ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
EMEC23 participants should submit their abstracts via on-line form for approval by Organizing Committee. Scientific Committee decides whether the abstracts are accepted and in which form (oral or poster) they will be presented, taking into account author’s decision. The abstracts will be included in the conference program and book of abstracts only after the participant registration and fee payment.
Abstract submission deadline: November 10th 2023.
Each participant can submit up to two abstracts as presenting author.
However, only one can be considered for oral communication.
Please read carefully the guidelines for preparation of Abstracts for Poster or/and Oral Presentation in the Abstract Template! The abstract must not exceed one A4 page.
GUIDELINES FOR PRESENTATIONS
The abstracts should be sent in Microsoft Word file (format *.doc). The text should not exceed 1 page, paper size 170 mm ˟ 240 mm (6.69″ ˟ 9.45″), including pictures. Page margins are set to be 1.8 cm (0.71″) on all sides.
Title in Times New Roman (10 pt Bold) Using First Capital Letters (Recommended Size: Two Lines)
Authors initials – full surname (example I. V. Ivanov). If authors are from the different organizations use the number as superscript after the surnames which should correspond to the organization. The name of presenting author should be underlined. The name of the corresponding author should marked with *. For text formatting should be used Times New Roman, 8 pt, italic.
Organization. The participant should provide full organization or institute name, postal address (street, the number of the house, postcode and country). If there are several authors from different organizations each organization name and postal address should be provided with the new line with superscript number at the beginning. The superscript should correspond to the author. The corresponding author should provide email address after the organization address. Times New Roman, 8pt, italic, should be used for text formatting.
Abstracts text. Abstracts will be considered only if the following guidelines are respected. The abstract (written in English) cannot be longer than 1 page (for both oral and poster presentations) and must include a Graphical Abstract (as presented in the section above). Please select the preferred form of presentation (ORAL or POSTER) marked in blue and located in the header of the Abstract template. In the same place, please also replace “#TOPIC” by one number related to the most relevant topic of the abstract (i.e., #1, #2, #3, #4, or #5), selected from this list:
- #1 Solid matrices
- #2 Water
- #3 Atmosphere
- #4 Sustainable development
- #5 One health
In any case, the Scientific Committee reserves the right to decide on a final topic assignment upon abstract selection.
The file should be named as “Name_Surname_x.doc”, corresponding to the Registered Author (as in Janez_Novak_1.doc). The number corresponds to the number of submitted abstracts by the same registrant.
It is important to strictly follow the format of Template document. We strongly recommend typing the abstract over the template in order to ensure that all abstract contributions have the same style in the final publication, i.e., two columns of text written in Times New Roman 9 pt (justified) with page margins of 1.8 cm all around. Do not use non-standard abbreviations in the title.
The sections for acknowledgements (Times New Roman 8 pt) and references should appear at the end of the abstract. Leave one line before the section titles.
References should be sequentially numbered in the text and indicated in square brackets before puncture signs (e.g., “…reaction engineering [1,2].”; “…as shown by other authors [2-4] …”). Please follow the corresponding styles for articles in journals [1], conference proceedings [2], books [3], articles in books [4] and electronic sources [5], a maximum of 5 references is recommended (Times New Roman, 8 pt).
- Plenary talks: duration of presentation 45 min and 10 min for discussion;
- Keynote talks: duration of presentation 30 min and 5 min for discussion;
- Regular oral presentations: duration of presentation 12-15 min and 5 min for discussion
Presentations should be prepared in Powerpoint™ format (.ppt or .pptx). At the venue, you should upload your presentation on the onsite computer using a memory stick as early as possible, but no later than the morning of your presentation.
Max size of posters can be 90 x 150 cm (presented in portrait orientation).
Your poster will have an allocated board, numbered according to the book of abstracts. The poster will be available for viewing and discussion for several hours, therefore the content should be understandable without an oral explanation, and text and graphics should be readable from 2 meters away.
Presenters are expected to be at the posters during the Poster session according to the programme.
